Our Story
Qaushey did not start as Qaushey. About 9 years ago, it was actually a faint idea of what was going to turn into a passion for creativity, love for Indian Handlooms and the whole wide world to take this idea to. One of the weekends, on a rainy Mumbai afternoon, the topic of how the Indian way of living is the best way to live sustainability started. It led to the food, the Yoga, the Ayurveda and so many more snippets of our culture. One of the important aspects of our culture is clothing. And there are so many varieties of them that we can go on forever and still not be done with the diversity it bring to us. The advent of “Handloom” dates back to the Indus Valley civilization. The art was appreciated in every nook and corner of the world including faraway lands of Romans, Mesopotamians, and Egyptians.
This is where the inspiration for the idea of Qaushey came into being. Shruti and Jaspreet decided they would take this to the world one day. Almost always, it takes a lot of courage to step out of your zone of comfort and start building something from scratch. Time went by and their conviction to make Qaushey known to everyone around the world got stronger. Someday in the year 2023, they decided to go all in and make this a reality. There was no eureka moment because they were so convinced that this is the right thing to do for our artisans, customers around the globe and for our beloved country above all. October 16th, 2023 Qaushey had its genesis.
